April 1st TYA Winners

We'd like to congratulate the Bezilla team for winning the April 1st Thank You Award! This poll saw the most votes ever, at 86, and was very close between Bezilla, Bernd Korz, and Francois Revol. Alas, based on public opinion, we can only have one winner. The Bezilla team has consistently cranked out Mozilla builds, eventhough BeOS went under years ago, they made sure that BeOS users had a suitable and up-to-date browsing experience paving the way through to Haiku :) Well done Bezilla, and thanks again for your efforts all of these years! I'll forward the award tomorrow.

Not really, it was suggested by a Haiku developer :P

Surprisingly, Bernd Korz received the second highest amount of votes too.

As I mentioned somewhere else before... Regardless of his reputation IMHO he did contributed quite a bit to Haiku.

My opinion is that Mr Korz have done more harm than good with BeOS...
The Zeta series were completely unpolished product (full of crap). Most of the works have been done by volunteers or purchased cheaply... The worst is that they even sold other-properties like Gobe productive and especially the Palm/Access assets (BeOS Dano).
I'am really ashamed to have buy Zeta from the beginning :cry:
Anyway, the sun shine for Haiku and congrats for the BeZilla team ! 8)

be sure jeanmarc, that at least from my side:

Without Bernd, we would not have any bluetooth.
This is a fact. And some other things I got permision from him to go on.. that I have no time to publish and/or mantain.

Some other current Haiku developers which were formed in yT, becoming yT enginners may could write similar comments.

So people have to live that yT legacy is and will be in Haiku. But I dont have to live with that, because I am proud of that, and that time of my life.

@urnenfeld

I know nothing of yT and what happened there (except what I heard 3rd party) but I guessed that, even though Zeta may not have been polished, there would be some code that will benefit Haiku :-)

IMO, I'm glad to see that is the case

Right, me too! With regards to the TYA... I think we should implement a 'three strikes you're out' policy for candidates. I think Bernd and some others were now nominated three times...
