Feb. 1st Thank You Award

I think we all know the drill now, in case you don't, read up on our Thank You Award!

Please provide us with any candidates you think should win the award by this Saturday evening (EST) - Voting starts Sunday. Humdinger, from Haiku Gazette, (who's always on top of things!) provided us with a great list of candidates... He suggests the following:

Clemens Zeidler - for his Intel Speedstep driver. After his touchpad work another, even more important, contribution for Haiku to fit into today's computing with note- and netbooks all around. Conserving power is a major issue here, as it should for everything.

Alexandre Deckner - still doing much needed work on Tracker. This nomination is mostly for his contributions to PoseView, where he fixed bugs that prevented displaying all files of a folder containing many files. He could also sped-up displaying large file listings.

Niels Reedijk
- once more for keeping Trac on track. Plus he just recently solved issues that prevented the website to be upgraded to a newer Drupal version. In his own words:
The purpose of upgrading to Drupal 5.x is:
 * Stay up to date with the latest security fixes.
 * Give us some additional features, most notably the use of secure smtp which will allow
us to migrate our mail to Google.
 * Prepare an upgrade path to Drupal 6. This is not a straight upgrade path, but that is
   for a later discussion.

Christof Lutteroth, Gerald Webers, Ahmed Al Hassani, Mohannad Hammadeh, James and John Kim
- Professors and students of the University of Auckland, NZ, who developed and applied window stacking and customized widget placing on Haiku. If only they were 7 guys: one t-shirt shared every day of the week... :)

Jérôme Duval - has done lots of different things, most visible probably through his work on HDA audio
