Sorry for the delay in bringing Haikuware and BeBits back online... This wasn't really how I anticipated the announcement, but most of you have probably figured it out by now - Haikuware acquired BeBits as of January 1st, 2009.

Additionally, most BeBits accounts (login, email & password) were imported to Haikuware. Those users registered here at Haikuware already, with the same email address as at BeBits, were skipped in the import. So for all others, this means you should be able to use your BeBits account to login at Haikuware. Although most are probably long forgotten, this brings the number of accounts here to almost 80,000!...

To make a long story short, regarding the downtime, a user complained to my hosting provider that they were being spammed. I wasn't able to reply to the provider about the issue so they temporarily disabled the entire server! I left my credentials for the host behind in Canada when I was on vacation in Europe, and didn't think to leave them for the other site administrator Dennis. Some lessons learned indeed ;)

We don't spam, and I hate spam just as anyone else does. The situation had to do with a user that posted Windows software to Haikuware (GodswMobile SMS Transfer), and taking advantage of our instant messaging system. Some steps have been taken to prevent this happening again.
