The second deadline for the Wifi Bounty is next week, as such, Colin has released the the Wifi Config Tool for testing! It can be downloaded here at OSDrawer. So what are its features?
- Scan for available WLANs
- Join a WLAN (no hidden WLANs though)
- Show the WLAN you are connected to
The corresponding commands are printed out by issuing the command "wlanconfig help" in the terminal.
After downloading and unpacking the wlanconfig zip, you install it by executing the install.sh script.
To use wlanconfig to its full potential you have to download and install the latest atheros driver, too.
When reporting bugs: http://dev.osdrawer.net/projects/haiku-wifi/issues/new (you have to be logged in) please append the output of getsysteminfos.sh installed with the latest atheros driver.

Hi,
thanks for your effort.
Yes this qualifies as a bug. Please file a new bug report.
And before doing so please make sure that you increase your
syslog_buffer_size as mentioned here http://dev.osdrawer.net/projects/haiku-wifi/wiki/How_to_become_a_tester (Section 2) before running the getsysteminfos script.
Also note that a comment section is the last place I would expect a bug report. So if in doubt just file a bug report, there is no harm if it doesn't qualifiy as a bug ;)
Bye Colin
I made a mistake, the bounty's guidelines for the second phase were for a CLI Wifi Config tool, not a GUI...
