Since my first blog post, I have noticed there has indeed been a little increase in participation in BeShare, but I'm going to continue hammering the message home in hopes there will eventually be many more in there.

As I mentioned, BeShare is a chat client available here at Haikuware that runs equally great under BeOS and Haiku.  My goal is to build up the number of participants to the point of "viability" as a place to be able to come chat and share ideas, as in its heyday.

BeShare is the world's easiest chat client to install and use.  Just download and run the install.   Afterwards, I suggest you locate and double-click-on the following file:

/boot/home/config/boot/UserBootscript

And add a line that looks something like this:

/boot/apps/Network/BeShare/BeShare.x86 beshare.neonplasma.com &

The path will vary depending on where you install BeShare, but the result will be that, whenever you boot the computer, BeShare will automatically launch and join the neonplasma chatroom.  I'm not advocating that room over any other, but that happens to be the one I frequent.
