Attribute Mirror (library) Download

Description:

Have you ever missed that you can't attach attributes to your files on non-BeFS filesystems? This library will emulate such a feature for you. Attribute tools included.

Unfortunately, it does not work transparently. Software needs to be rewritten to make use of the attribute mirror (relaying) function. To make this worthwhile for developers, I have tried to simplify the whole process of reading, writing, removing and renaming attributes.

(Note: This thing would work better transparently.
I have some ideas how to make filesystems support it
(so that app developers need not care), but haven't got
anything implemented yet.)

Supported apps so far are:

- included tools: listattr, renameattr, rmattr, catattr, and a simple version of copyattr

See TODO for more ideas. The perfect fit could be a modified version of OpenTracker.

First released version. Does just about what it is supposed to do.
