Boost C++ Libraries Download

Thumbnails:

Description:

Boost provides free peer-reviewed portable C++ source libraries.

We emphasize libraries that work well with the C++ Standard Library. Boost libraries are intended to be widely useful, and usable across a broad spectrum of applications. The Boost license encourages both commercial and non-commercial use.

We aim to establish "existing practice" and provide reference implementations so that Boost libraries are suitable for eventual standardization. Ten Boost libraries are already included in the C++ Standards Committee's Library Technical Report (TR1) and will be in the new C++0x Standard now being finalized. C++0x will also include several more Boost libraries in addition to those from TR1. More Boost libraries are proposed for TR2.

The only arguments to --with-libraries= I used when installing was 'filesystem'. To get the other libs that need compiling (not many), go to boost.org. Most of the library is inlined in the headers, so you're not missing much in this archive.

A good starting point for porting boost would be this patch http://ports.haiku-files.org/attachment/wiki/dev-libs/boost/1.38.0/boost-1_38_0-haiku-gcc4-rev2.diff . You're also welcome to update the boost port on haiku-ports :)

The Boost library from Haikuports have been compiled with ipv6 support, causing headaches using with some apps in haiku. On this version this feature was disabled?

Would it not make sense to get these librarys which are likely to become C++ standard librarys into the mainline Haiku trunk vrs the current situation ? Certainly would make sense from my perspective.

It looks like a small part of boost is available from libports, but more is needed for a rebuild of POVRAY.
