This is BeOS legacy driver. It may or may not work under Haiku. It could render your system unstable
About HighPoint HPT366 DMA IDE driver:
Driver for High Point HPT366 Ultra ATA/66 IDE controllers.
This driver DOES NOT support the HPT370 IDE controller. If you have a Maxtor drive, you may experience freeze-up problems.
I have now included the source code for this driver.
Important: This driver is known not to work perfectly on all systems. For some, everything works just fine while others have problems. Any use is entirely at your own risk. If this driver renders your BeOS machine unbootable, hold down space while booting to enable the fail-safe boot menu. Select "Disable user add-ons" and then continue booting. I sure hope you read this before you try out the driver.
Special Note for BeOS 5 Personal Edition users
If you wish to use this driver with BeOS 5 Personal Edition, you must first boot into Windows with your hard drive connected to a non-HPT366 DMA IDE controller. Then boot into BeOS 5 PE, install the driver, shutdown your system, move the hard drive to the HPT366 controller, reboot into Windows, then reboot into BeOS 5.
Details about this version:
All DMA functions have been implemented. One serious bug remaining: the driver locks up under heavy read load on the developer's test machine. - Submitted On:
