OK gave this a try with my 3.4 ghz thuban amd phenom II 6 core. Completely unplayable even with the update mesa rendering engine. Frame rate is maybe 4-5 fps and its not a cpu issue. The code is just really really not optimized for haiku.

But it does run.

I am using the VESA driver as my card is currently unsupported. I could try with one of the machine with a rage128 but I think those cards won't be up to the task.

Updating with a *sound enabled* version

perhaps counter dowloads may rise slightly... (I hope so)

Karl, could you increase support for the file size of 670 MB for a while? I did Speed-Dreams 2 port , and looks cleaner than this 1.4.0 version, and is SDL based instead GLUT, increasing the fps a little bit...

you could host it on Dropbox in the meantime. I would live to try it and see if its anybetter.

Low down the resolution...
The most important thing is when Gallium work, will have games to test

Karl, I'll need 686 mb instead 670 mb (BFS miracles)

0 # RE: Speed Dreamsthatguy 2011-04-25 18:46
yeah its kind of playable at 480 but the throttle and brake don't seem to behave well.I don't know if its my keyboard but the car tops out at 6 mph.

Ahhh.. I know why.. maybe it's waiting a joystick entry .. I'll investigate (since my plib port don't include joystick code...)
