Thanks for the port but I don't think posting commercial game ISO " is legal ... remember that Haiku can mount ISOs "out of the box" and also can read ISO9660 fs' CDs to copy game resources from them ;)

But I not uploading ISOs here, only appoint where you can get one that I have tested :D

Yes. with this engine is possible retreive data from CDs. Just make changes in your GemRB.cfg file.

Didn't you get in trouble for this already on the Jagged Alliance game? It's not a good idea to advocate piracy in any form. It gives Haiku and Haikuware a bad name.

Well, is not a good idea for North american residents.. for south americans is still valid, mainly if you don't find the app in the stores, and if you find, cost 10x more than your wage or if never anybody was convicted in your country for download torrents.. since that is different from DCMA, the process allows ample defense. Anyway, In respect to Karl and others here... and for last,

Removed reference for torrent file.
I don't want to turn Haikuware into a den of pirates

I think Michael has ported over almost all of the popular SDL games!

Someone needs to give him faster OpenGL (llvmpipe or GPU accelerated) so Michael can work on porting over those games too. :-)

You not specify where the game data are, in GemRB.cfg.

Please do it.

In my case, I copy the whole game into /boot/apps/BGII - SoA/ folder

See that the app needs of correct path to works

Sorry, I downloaded ToB not SoA

+3 # RE: RE: RE: RE: Baldur's Gate 2michaelvoliveira 2010-06-19 14:54
But ToB *WORKS* too! :P please see the first configure line in GemRB.cfg to indicate your game title! Change SoA to ToB!

To copy/paste it use the raw view. Feel free to modify/crop it as it may be a bit too lengthy. :D

Michael, version 0.6.6 has been released: http://www.gemrb.org/wiki/doku.php?id=status

If you have the time to update the port to the current version, I'd truly appreciate it, since some of the new and improved features are things that I was waiting for for a long time now. If you don't, well, tell me, is there something important to know about the source before compiling it for Haiku?

Thanks! Do you have more tutorials like this? if you have one or you want to do some one in the future, will be fine to add them into our knowledge base "BeSly".

Thanks

Uhm... nope, that was my first and only tutorial for Haiku. Maybe sometime in the future I'll make some more, but I don't assure you anything.

BTW, a corrected version of that tutorial is here: http://haikuware.com/wikis/doku.php?id=tutorials:installing-and-using-gemrb-on-haiku
