About PrimeForm/GW:
PrimeForm/GW is a program to perform probable prime tests, and deterministic tests where possible, on numbers of arbitrary form. It uses George Woltman's math library as used in the 'prime95' and 'mprime' Mersenne prime testing programs to give very fast performance.
pfgw currently holds many of the more 'unusual' primality-proving records because of its ability to test arbitrary forms. It recently made number-theory news with new Fibonacci and Lucas number records, and is a tool to be used by the big prime hunter and researcher alike.
The pfgw engine also uses the GMP multiprecision library for flexibility in its powerful expression evaluator. You must install libgmp.so, available from bebits at the link below.
The program is open source, and contributions are always welcome. It also has a large user group and mailing list for support and comments.
It is a Terminal program - documentation for its many options is included. Special thanks to Micha Fleuren and Jim Fougeron for the "getting started" documentation.
Details about this version:
Official release. The zip now contains full, up-to-date documentation, and a couple of *very* obscure bugs were fixed. Check out the README and RELNOTES files for BeOS-specific information.
