Remember it's still a pre-alpha release.
You have to start it, add an account from the preferences dialog.
Close Caya and start it again . it will connect automatically.

Making it less annoying is the goal of the next commits

Not yet but in these days I'm working hard on jabber.

imho it would be better to have a screenshot, which have pictures too next to contacts (nice feature of caya)

I am compiling caya from cvs and using it since early january. I even submitted some bug reports on dev.osdrawer.net :)

Finally something is happening with instant messaging. msn support would be very welcome too, as the only option right now is using web messengers, and I'm not much of a fan of web apps..

Gloox runs well on Haiku now...

starting from terminal, the thread is killed after looking for protocols

compiling it from svn (rev 174) is fine, runs as expected.

Updated the binary to r177 should work better

I still don't know how many snapshots are left before Alpha1 but it's very soon and it will also have jabber (same jabber from IM Kit).

The license is GPL, but we are resolving this issue moving all the the GPL'ed plugins to their separate repository.

it seems that Caya development stalled again (no development since a month)

I compiled rev. 223 on Haiku nighlty r 37719 gcc4 hybrid and msn works fine (good news), seems that jabber moved to using gloox (compiles fine), but I just can not configure to use gtalk... :(

would be nice to see development again...

(jabber4haiku v1.2.1 still works for GTalk)

It's sad... the latest revision that I have here Is from 05/30, that Xeon3D have gave me.. and already had an MSN support

well, this one has msn support... and works... gtalk does not as they moved to gloox and perhaps it is not complete yet...

Extract the package in /boot and then look at /boot/apps/Caya. Run the Caya file and then from the menu on the right, add an account (choosing the protocol).

does not work with rev:38360 (missing symbol:_ZN18BGridlaoutBuildercvP5BviewEv)
