About BWeatherTT:

BWeatherTT is an updated version of the highly popular BWeather program released in 2000 by James Marr. James is no longer working on BWeather, and gave TuneTracker Systems permission to update it for use with the TuneTracker Radio Automation System. We wanted everyone to enjoy it, so here it is!

BWeatherTT will get the weather for your area, or the nearest city in its list, and display it for you, complete with temperature, sky and precipitation conditions, and weather forecast. It will update as frequently as you tell it to, providing fresh weather information right on your desktop, in Farenheit or Celcius.

Kudos to Bruno Albuquerque and Francois Revol for their help!

Details about this version:

New in this version:

- Supports new National Weather Service format
- Paragraph layout improved
- Stores data to /var/tmp/ for access by other programs
- Deskbar mode eliminated due to instability

You may still encounter occasional crashes with this version, if you run it constantly. We got around that by using a script that launches it every ten minutes, waits for BWeatherTT to get the forecast, then kills it, waits another ten minutes, etc. However it may be that BWeatherTT runs just fine, and long-term, on your computer without any ill effects.

Yet to do: A MUCH larger, more updated database of available cities is available at (wget) http://www.tunetrackersystems.com/downloads/Locations.xml . If someone can adapt BWeatherTT to that database, it will become a real weather superstar. :-) We'll leave that to someone out there in BeOS codeland to add to BWeatherTT.

it runs fine in Haiku Alpha2 and appears to pull the data for the given city, but the replicant does not work.
