Built from http://haikuware.com/directory/view-details/internet-network/remote-access/vncserver with minor changes in source code. gcc4+gcc2. Also missed vncpasswd included.

nice addition. it's normal now to have both gcc2 and gcc4 binaries in the archive. haiku needs something like a universal binary...

No need to make it that complicated. We could put two binaries, in this case vncserver-gcc2 and vncserver-gcc4 in a simple (non-compressed) archive. Add a very simple info file pointing to the binaries by containing these lines:

gcc2: vncserver-gcc2
gcc4: vncserver-gcc4

If just Haiku added support for recognizing this and picking the right binary inside the archive, this would be a very good and simple solution I think. No special compiling, and even a user would be able to make an archive within a few seconds.

there is no vncpasswd file so you can't set authentication...

would it be better to make gcc2 and gcc4 folders and put the respective binaries in there instead of renaming the binaries? i.e will vncserver find InputEventInject-gcc4?

This program could be haiku compatible for alpha3, but it would require repacking and dropping the gcc4 bits.

If its ok, I would gladly do it.

I just tried to use this under the nightly gcc4 build and it starts and says it's listening, but as soon as any of the vnc clients I've tried connects -- it then dies.
