PDF Viewer v0.2.1 Download

Thumbnails:

Description:

This is a PDF Viewer based on  MuPDF.

Update:

Scrolling, panning  and zooming works now on the whole document without restriction to a single page. It uses now a rendering engine, which loads and deletes pdf pages in an own thread. For now I set the cache size to be a fixed number, later you will be able to choose how big the cache should be.

Shortcuts:

Arrow left/up , for scrolling up.

Arrow right/bottom for scrolling down.

"+" for zooming in

"-" for zooming out

Remark:

This viewer will become much better, soon I hope. I would be happy about ideeas how to improve it and what features it should have.

It doesn't have yet all the functionality of BePDF, but it I think it's starting to be quite useful, especially because of the fast rendering.

The interface, is not yet an real ribbon, because I think for the moment, that compact version is better suited, then a big ribbon (but it's very likely that I will make a real ribbon interface too for testing).

Caution:

At the moment, the application can use quite a lot of memory depending. In the next version, the cache size will adapt better acording to your free memory.

One a normal machine the memory used by this viewer should not be a problem, but for a pc with very little ram it could become a problem.

maybe you should give the poll a bit more time before discontinuing? 11 votes isn't that much, and maybe now people can test it and compare to bepdf before they vote.

Yes, it seems, for the most people it's even not worth to take part at the poll :P, and nearly half of the ones who answered to the poll say that they dont need it.
Perhaps indeed there is not a big need for a new pdf-viewer. Perhpas pdf files are not that often used on haiku.

I would like to encourage you to work on the pdf viewer. For me it is very important to be able to view newer pdfs in Haiku. Bepdf is a good program but is limited to older pdf versions.
I am not so interested in the games other people like so much.
People are different and have different needs.
So don't be discouraged. An up to date pdf viewer is a must for every OS.

Please Vote, exactly how you feel/think, even if it's a negative vote. I prefer to know the real situation. :-)

Being able to can you switch the dok from one side to the other? I haven't tested it yet since I've been busy with school but that would be a nice feature... I dunno the button pannel/dock or whatever it is would feel more correct to me on the right.

This viewer works amazingly well. It replaced BePDF on my Haiku install. Many thanks !

I'm reading a lot pf pdf documentation for electronics stuff, and this has made it much more fast to browse.

I really like the fact that you can annotate PDF files with Preview under OS X. Simple things like adding adjustable sized coloured circles or rectangles to emphasize things (that can be also be filled to black stuff out) and adding text is important to me. Also, being able to add and delete pages within PDFs and add images and then save is great.

By the way, it's nice to see all the people contributing to the bounty :-)

Perhaps you can provide later when you have time (it's anyway to pressing) screenshots, because I dont have osx and I'm interested in the UI of other viewers and their features.
