FFPlay Download

Thumbnails:

Description:

FFPlay is a simple GUI for ffplay . It's main purpose is helping the Haikuteam recognize file formats MediaPlayer does not playback. Therefor a info tool based on ffmpegs info is built right in which gives detailed information about the video and audiocodec.

It should playback many common formats, like Theora, XVID, DivX, H.264, Mpeg4, MP3, MP2, Ac3 and lots more.

The package includes ffmpeg & ffplay aswell as all the requirements necessary to make it work on plain Haiku Alpha 1. Though the SDL output plugin for ffplay seems a little bit slugish. I suggest only testing video and audio output.

Changelog: fixed link in sdl.zip which is in requirements.zip

Howto Install the requirements.zip:

1. Extract the requirements.zip

2. Extract each of the .zips from requirements.zip to /boot

3. Then you might start FFPlay and it should work.

If you encounter any problems try running it from within the terminal to find the issue.

Perhaps a lib is still missing.
Please try manually run ffplay from within the terminal and take a look if its still needing something.

I did the above and it also didn't play. Error: runtime_loader: Cannot open file libSDL-1.2.so.0: No such file or directory

Just make a link: ln -s /boot/common/lib/libSDL-1.2.so libSDL-1.2.so.0

Leszek, if i would like to modify your code slightly and wanna publish it , do I need to create separate submit and release it as FFPlay MOD, or maybe send it to You, and after accepting it you'll publish small update ?

It's probably best to send him a Private Message (under the User Menu, use his username). That way he'll get an email. He won't see the comment unless he subscribed to it, or visits this page.

this haiku ffmpeg is really ancient and outdated now is there no one willing to maintain a current git given BEOS was founded on the video and audio capability, this haiku seems very odd and wrong without that as a key foundation today.

The current version of ffmpg is uptodate on the build site and the native mediaplayer makes good use of it.

this is essentially deprecated since like may of 2010.
