FFPlay
Download
- Description:
-
FFPlay is a simple GUI for ffplay . It's main purpose is helping the Haikuteam recognize file formats MediaPlayer does not playback. Therefor a info tool based on ffmpegs info is built right in which gives detailed information about the video and audiocodec.
It should playback many common formats, like Theora, XVID, DivX, H.264, Mpeg4, MP3, MP2, Ac3 and lots more.
The package includes ffmpeg & ffplay aswell as all the requirements necessary to make it work on plain Haiku Alpha 1. Though the SDL output plugin for ffplay seems a little bit slugish. I suggest only testing video and audio output.
Changelog: fixed link in sdl.zip which is in requirements.zip
Howto Install the requirements.zip:
1. Extract the requirements.zip
2. Extract each of the .zips from requirements.zip to /boot
3. Then you might start FFPlay and it should work.
If you encounter any problems try running it from within the terminal to find the issue.

Just make a link: ln -s /boot/common/lib/libSDL-1.2.so libSDL-1.2.so.0
It's perfect to me see House MD., True Blood and others!
MANY MANY THANKS!! Haiku is now 90% usable to me with this app
The current version of ffmpg is uptodate on the build site and the native mediaplayer makes good use of it.
this is essentially deprecated since like may of 2010.
