Description:
Are you fed up with Haiku's all-or-nothing approach to unzipping files? Would you like to read the README file before you decide if and where to unzip a program?
ExtractOne is a program to extract a single file at a time from a zip file. Drop the zip file on the fake button in the left bottom corner, Choose the file to extract, select where you want it to go and click on "Extract file". Easy!
ExtractOne will put your file exactly where you asked it to: it does not recreate the directory structure inside the zip file. So if you ask it to put the README on the Desktop, that is where it will go. After extraction, a Tracker window will open on the extraction directory, except if you extracted to the Desktop: as far as Tracker is concerned, the Desktop is already open

Hi,
I'm running plain Haiku Alpha3.
When i drop a zip file on the fake button, the program disappears, close itself without any error.. I miss something?

Best regards.

the tmp folder is now at /boot/common/cache/tmp. the program refers to /boot/var/tmp. this needs to be fixed for r1a3.

a work around is to create the folder: /boot/var/tmp

This allows the app to run without modificarion.

yes, a fair number of BeOS apps use /boot/var/tmp as their tmp directory. haiku changed this for some reason. it breaks compatibility of a lot of apps. there used to be a 'beoscompatibility' package that would link to the new tmp dir for BeOS compatibility, but don't believe this package exists anymore. it's definitely something that should be fixed for R1. a symlink costs no space.

gotta love it when your buddies solve the problem before you've even seen the bug report  I'll have version 0.2.1 out by tonight.
