BeRometer is a benchmark application for the BeOS. It gathers metrics on the BeOS graphics, memory management, floating point computations, disk i/o, and file life cycle for both the Intel and PowerPC versions of the BeOS. BeRometer graphs your results with other BeOS configurations that were sent in by users.

BeRometer should only be used as a gauge to evaluate the relative performance of the BeOS and the hardware configuration being compared. No single numerical measurement can describe the performance of a computer. If performance and hardware configuration is vital to your business needs, testing the application on various environments is the best means of obtaining a subjective evaluation of performance. Many BeOS applications are highly threaded, and may increase overall performance. BeRometer performance are all iterative operation and are sequentially done to obtain an average rate.
