Is not stable yet.. but if you wants to give a try: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27175540/lyx.7z * Dispite some missing template errors, is very functional * The text area is not clickable: there's a bug into MouseClickEvent class (20 lines of code). Maybe Qt guys could help to fix it (3DEyes **hint** **hint**)

The comment comes off as rude and childish. A simple We have no interest in maintaing or updating Abiword for Haiku at this time Would have been sufficient. That comment was intentionally belittling. It shows why abiword is a noname word processor. I hadn't even heard of it before I saw it on haikuware. I see that attitude alot in the open source community. Point is, who cares. being reasonable and having a reasonable discussion are about being adult. Not acting like a pimple face teenager living in your parents basement at 40.

That comment comes off strong but makes sense. Most software is written for Windows, Linux (GTK or KDE) or MacOS X. Those are the popular and mainstream OSes used today. All other alternative (or niche) OSes do not matter to application developers. Developers do not want to do the extra programming work to get some program working on Haiku. If they do not use Haiku or consider it very niche OS (few users) then why would or should they spend time porting software over? This attitude may change later with R1 release but I am not really sure. Better to look for Qt versions of software. Most Qt software requires little to no changes to work on Haiku.
