Maybe you missed it but Gnash is at version 0.8.9 =) http://gnashdev.org/?q=node/78 And Gnash 0.8.9 blog says, "And yes, Gnash plays Youtube!!" If Gnash 0.8.9 plays Youtube on Linux then it should also be able to do this on Haiku.

I think Michael is the guy to ask. Michael is very good & active porter here. I'm using Haiku very little these days. So I don't need or won't use Gnash. Maybe things will change later on with next Haiku release. Right now I get all the Flash I want with Windows 7. ;)

Seems like Haiku was added into Gnash. So, compiling Gnash plus any required dependencies should get the latest working version for anyone that wants it on Haiku. http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/gnash.git/log/?qt=grep&q=haiku I don't have time to spend on this but maybe someone like Michael might.

Sorry no. I know little C++ so wouldn't be able to code anything. I can only fix code (porter) to make programs work on Haiku. Maybe he is waiting for Alpha 3 or busy? I notice Gnash release happens every 5-6 months so I expect 0.8.9 will be out in 2 or 3 months time. It isn't only about rebuilding Gnash but also the dependencies which Gnash has lots of and requires to avoid any crashing issues from previously compiled libraries. Creating some type of automatic way to build Gnash + dependencies from source (either with Haikuporter or otherwise) would really help make things way easier to maintain. Maybe even buildbot: http://haiku-os.org/blog/tqh/2010-12-18_interest_setting_gnash_buildbot_haiku

Could you perhaps be enticed with a small amount of funds to update the port since the original porter does not seem to be doing so ? There are still issues with media server as well.

Haiku is constantly changing so an application may work on 1 revision of Haiku and not another unless it is recompiled. That's why you see those missing symbol errors. Changes have happened to Haiku and will require compiling Gnash for newer Haiku. Same thing for other programs giving missing symbol errors. Side note, Gnash 0.8.8 was released Aug 22 which should work with Youtube once more but I don't think anyone wants to take time to update or maintain Gnash on Haiku? http://gnashdev.org/?q=node/76
