it works well, the only glitch I encountered was the mouse wheel was reversed. I opened a bug on the tracker, but I discovered later it was only on Haiku: https://bugs.launchpad.net/widelands/+bug/799080

Micheal while I have no official say on the subject manner, what you have here is nice. It works when downloaded so long as the sdl gcc4 libs and lua are installed. If this unzipped to boot/apps and installed everything, it'd be like the perfect app. Although if you can make it very clear both need to be installed I would call it good enough for A3. Nice work btw Sean

package manager will not help unless it can rebuild the sources. ie, download source, patch it, build it, then replace older program version and distribute new version to users Or else developer will have to rebuild the programs manually every time one breaks.

Yes but sdl libs are now also optional package on Haiku and yet you included those. =) ie, fat bundle sdl libs maybe enough for now but who knows about later on. If you are Ok with recompile or rebundle later on then not an issue. I also think very important to split data and program apart to make updating much easier. So, you can avoid uploading 124 MB every time you have to just update the program.
