Hi,
well, there are a lot of stuff, that would be important for *me*, but every user in different needs...
off-topic:
I'm hardly waiting to use HAIKU as main OS day to day here at work. A few things hardly missing:
- a working vnc-viewer (the available one from BeOS crashes, recompiling and bug hunting seems to be needed),
- using web+ (via proxy-settings an other few glitches)
- samba and nfs
on-topic:
In case of PDF:
I've been using goBe productive and the pdf-printer on BeOS/Zeta and i've been very, very happy with that combination about ~10 years.
I also used BeTeX a lot. Also a very good solution on BeOS.
Unfortunately, Haiku doesn't support TeX afair.
So, on BeGeistert meeting in october 2009 a developer (jan__64) has been so kind to have a look of how are the chances to port TeX libraries and stuff, and while we had the sources of BeTeX, he recompiled that software.
Porting of TeX stuff failed, caused by only 2 or 3 libs, as far as i remember.
jan__64 became quiet after that meeting for personal reasons, so his main project (yab) and the stuff around BeTeX isn't developed further atm.
So, i for one would be very happy to have a working BeTeX here for doing a lot of documentation at work.
But, as mentioned, that is only my point of view.
greets,
prOSy
