Does anyone have a rough approximation of the total nunmber of haiku users ? I need to make the sale so I need to know what I am pitching to get them to bite.
Demographics data such as website stats, number of downloads of releases/nightlies, and number of registered users could give you some ammunition to make your pitch. It is not an exact science, but it can help you make a more compelling case.
When I was the Haiku website admin, I remember once releasing comprehensive stat reports for everyone to see. For example:
www.haiku-os.org/blog/koki/2008-04-04/ha...ats_and_other_trivia
I don't know if there is this sort of data now available, but if you asked for it, you may be able to get the admins to release it.
This is interesting information that shows general trends over extended periods of time, as well as the impact that specific events/milestones have at any given point in time (for example, when you make a release, a news post, participation in GSOC, etc.).
