About replitxt:

replitxt is a transparent text desktop replicant - my first creation in bringing transparent replicants to your desktop...

I went to a M$ shell site one day and saw some cool transparent text components for the desktop. This is my attempt at bringing some additional eye-candy to BeOS.
  • The text of a replicant can be changed programatically (i.e. useful for a script!)
  • Replicant responds to changing workspace or being moved.

Details about this version:

First version, but stable on my two machines. Try it and tell me what you think. I will release the base class (xReplicant) in the future if people have any interest in it.

I will try and make some more cool replicants (and a tutorial) in the near future, but until then enjoy!

Actually this is very cool! I emailed the author to submit the source if possible, because this code is really worth to learn from (at least for me).

Hello, repliman (the replicant manager) source code is available, but replitxt isn't yet. I tried to run it in haiku but the replicant wouldn't appear. However, I will post the last code that I have found.

Big Thanks!

the source compiles fine on Haiku Alpha2

note, you need xReplicant to compile first!

I liked this in BeOS--glad to see it works in Haiku Alpha 4 (I know, I know, all BeOS 5 software should eventually run in Haiku). But his html Readme file wouldn't open in Web Positive--I had to use Bezilla to open it properly. Heh.

I carelessly commented on the wrong program. I've edited the comment, but don't seem to be able to just delete it altogether.
