KOffice for Haiku - Stand Alone Installer
Download
- Description:
-
This is a packaged stand-alone installer consisting of Qt, KOffice (from TiltOS) and all it's required dependencies. It should *just work, after being installed :)
KOffice is free software, meaning it's open for anyone to improve and does not cost anything.
KWord is an intuitive word processor and desktop publisher application. With it, you can create informative and attractive documents with pleasure and ease.
KSpread is a fully-featured calculation and spreadsheet tool. Use it to quickly create and calculate various business-related spreadsheets, such as income and expenditure, employee working hours…
KPresenter is an easy to use yet still flexible presentation application. You can easily create presentations containing a rich variety of elements, from graphics to text, from charts to images. KPresenter is extensible through a plugin system, so it is easy to add new effects, new content elements or even new ways of managing your presentation. Because of the integration with KOffice, all the power and flexibility of the KOffice content elements are
available to KPresenter.
Karbon is a vector drawing application with an user interface that is easy to use, highly customizable and extensible. That makes Karbon a great application for users starting to explore the world of vector graphics as well as for artists wanting to create breathtaking vector art. - Submitted On:

Indeed.
I need a more elegant way to launch dbus though, right now they're startup scripts and it launches a new session everytime you start another KOffice application.
I tried messing around with putting dbus-daemon in the /boot/home/config/boot/launch folder, didn't seem to work though. If anyone has any ideas let me know (and please test them first).
No, coming soon.
I had some problems to unpack the packagefile, because it is a 7zip file and Haiku board tools does not extract them. So i used a yab app:
http://www.haikuware.com/directory/view-details/utilities/compression-archiving/extractnow
to do it. Can you create your next package as a zip file please?
I'm glad that KOffice works in this simple package. The TiltOS way was kind of tedious. I'll look into Yab, never used it.
Yes i have seen, but my haiku hybrid does not unpack your zip, my haiku gcc2 expand without any problems.
Look at http://www.besly.de for Tutorials of yab. To learn this language is not so complicated. You will get fast good results. If you have questions there enough people who can help you.
how can i get informations about the gcc?
using nightly: r35425 Feb 7 2010 01:39:14
hybrid I was able to unzip it from a Terminal:
~/Desktop> 7za x KOffice-Haiku.7z
Thanks for you efforts,

and after starting from command line:
eval `dbus-launch --auto-syntax`

I bet logging in/out would help. But this sounds very much like the installer
forgot a step at the end and it is not a koffice or kword bug.
Please talk to the haiku packagers.
But be careful to not overwrite the existing libraries or sever the symbolic links between them, otherwise the other installed programs that depend on them may no longer work.
If D-Bus is still not charging, use this command:
eval `dbus-launch --auto-syntax`
and run 'kword' or another program of the suite from the same terminal.
